Strategy
Corporate Strategy
The Institute completed a review of its strategy in 2006/07 endorsed by the Institute's governing Council in June 2007. The review sought to identify the Institute's strategic objectives and key priorities for the period 2007/08 – 2011/12. The Corporate Strategy is accessible by the link below:
Strategic Planning Statement
The Strategic Planning Statement sets out on an extended annual basis (12 – 18 months) how the Institute will move forward in delivering the strategic priorities detailed in the Corporate Strategy.
Implementation of the Strategy
The Institute's success in implementing the strategy will ultimately be the collective responsibility of its governing Council, senior management team and all members of its academic and support staff; although each has a distinctive role to play in this endeavour.
The Strategic Planning Statement exists in the context of our core business activity and its management and the Institute's commitment to continual improvement in these areas. It is also to be considered in the context of a number of existing strategies and policies including:
- Learning and Teaching Strategy 2011-2014
- Research, Consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Strategy
- Widening Participation Strategy
- Estates Strategy
- Finance Strategy
- ICT Strategy
- International Strategy
- Library Strategy
Each of these strategies is reviewed regularly but they will each be reviewed additionally to determine that they are aligned with this corporate strategy, both in its spirit as well as its detail. The Strategy is also supported by a number of Institute policies, including its:
- Equal Opportunities Policy
- Race Equality Policy
- Gender Equality Scheme
- Disability Equality Scheme
- Policy on Collaboration
- Dignity at Work Policy
- Health and Safety Policy
- Quality Assurance Policy
