An international event
The third international education conference convened jointly by the Institute of Education (IOE), London and Beijing Normal University (BNU).  The languages of the conference will be English and Mandarin Chinese.

About the conference
The conference, addressing the challenges of education and citizenship in a globalising world, will be held on the IOE's campus in central London. It is expected to have a worldwide impact and it will be a truly international event, drawing together scholarship and experience, practice and perspective from across the globe.

Participants will have the opportunity to:
-  interact with, and learn from, global leaders in the field of citizenship and education
-  gain new perspectives in this challenging and important area or work
-  network with colleagues from the UK, China and elsewhere
-  experience central London.

Conference news

2 September 2010: The conference schedule is almost finalised. We expect around 100 papers to be presented during the conference - a truly rich, global set of perspectives on citizenship education. There is still time to register for the conference, but hurry - places are filling up quickly!

30 July 2010: Thank you to all those colleagues who submitted abstracts from right across the world. We were delighted to see such high quality scholarship, and so much interest in this conference. All those who submitted abstracts will have been notified by now of the outcome. Please contact us if you sent an abstract for consideration and have not yet heard from the conference committee.
