Quality Assurance & Quality Enhancement
Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement is overseen by the Directorate of the Institute.  The Pro-Director: Learning and International has direct responsibility for providing academic leadership and strategic oversight of the range, quality and consistency of all taught and research degree provision.

The Academic Affairs Unit, which is managed by the Pro-Director: Learning and International, is responsible for the day to day management of the Institute's Quality Assurance Framework which covers programme design, approval and review, the student experience and evaluation of student satisfaction, admissions, assessment and examination.  The Academic Affairs Unit also has oversight of Equal Opportunities policies and strategy and Faculty and Departmental Reviews.

The Teaching Committee, chaired by the Pro-Director: Learning and International, is a sub-committee of the Institute's Senate and has detailed responsibility for the quality and standards of all accredited programmes.  With representation from the Faculties, the Doctoral School and the Students' Union, as well as the Heads of key departments including Registry and Student Support, Library Services and IT Services, it provides an effective forum for developing policies and procedures in relation to quality and standards, and monitoring the implementation of those policies and procedures.
