Institute of Education joins 1994 Group

The Institute of Education, University of London has been invited to become a member of the 1994 Group of leading research-intensive, student-focused universities. The Institute will formally join the 1994 Group on 1 August 2009.

Professor Paul Wellings, Chair-elect of the 1994 Group and Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University said:

The Institute delivers world-leading research in education and across the social sciences, coupled with an impressive influence on education policy nationally and globally. The Times Good University Guide 2010 league tables published on the 3rd June 2009 put 1994 Group universities top in six regions of the UK

5. The Institute of Education is a college of the University of London, specialising in teaching, research and consultancy in education and related areas of social science and professional practice.
