What's the big idea? Universities Week 2011 is a national campaign demonstrating the benefits of universities within UK society. It is supported by higher education institutions across the UK including the Institute of Education.

The campaign highlights the impact universities in the UK have on the individual, the local community, its businesses, and the future of the UK. This year it will celebrate universities' position at the heart of the UK education system. The campaign is centrally coordinated by Universities UK, the representative body for all UK universities, working closely with a range of higher education institutions and organisations, including the University Marketing Forum, the National Union of Students, the Higher Education Funding Council for England, Research Councils UK, UCAS, the University Alliance and GuildHE.
