Language and Literacy Research Centre (LLRC)

The LLRC supports theoretical and applied research in the areas of spoken and written language with the specific aim of developing an understanding of language acquisition, literacy development and the relationship between the two.

As a cross-departmental unit within the Institute of Education it draws on a wide range of expertise from psychology, education, speech and language therapy.

It is distinctive in its concern with emphasising the link between theory and practice and the evaluation of theory driven interventions.
