The GOODUEP – EAC/LLP project on university/enterprise relations began in November 2007 and continues until November 2009.  It is of policy, practice and academic relevance, involving 6 EU countries.  Full details can be found at http://gooduep.eu/  

CHES is working with CHEPS (Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies), University of Twente, on a European Commission project for reform and finance, due to be completed in January 2010.

  • EUEREK (Framework 6) - This €1m project has been completed and is summarised in Entrepreneurialism in universities and the knowledge economy: diversification and organisational change in European higher education, edited by Michael Shattock, (McGraw-Hill/Open University Press  December 2008).  For further details visit http://www.euerek.info.
  • The MODERN project will produce an overview of the supply of management development programmes and their adequacy to the demand, a European Portfolio of the provision in HEIs and European Associations, joint actions and communication and dissemination of information on best/appropriate practice in the form of conferences and reports.  CHES is an associate partner.
  • Benchmarking in European Higher Education is a project funded by the European Commission to improve benchmarking in higher education. The project is designed to help modernise higher education management and to promote the attractiveness of European Higher Education. It supports HEIs and policy makers to better realise the Lisbon goals and the Bologna Process.
  • The Engaged University: an international comparative study
  • Quality in Teaching - This international project funded by OEDC aims to compare initiatives that promote teaching quality across 30 Higher Education Institutions.
  • Ipsative Assessment and Learner Motivation.  Ipsative assessment compares a learner's current performance with previous performances rather than with external criteria. This project will pilot ipsative assessment and feedback for the Doctor of Education (EdD) programme at the Institute of Education.

Leadership Foundation for Higher Education funded project Optimising the Potential of 'Third Space' Professionals in UK Higher Education, runs from January to December 2009.  Building on earlier work, institutional case studies are being conducted to consider the professional activities, approaches and relationships of staff who work in blended roles between professional and academic spheres of activity, for instance in mixed project teams.
