Electronic journals are listed in the Library Catalogue, with direct links to their host websites. To search for individual ariticles, use a database such as British Education Index.
Journals
The library subscribes to over 3,000 journals on education and related subjects from all over the world. Some are available in print format, others electronically; many appear in both formats.
Location and access
The main print collection, including the latest issues received, is on open access and shelved alphabetically by title.
Less used journals are kept in the journals store, and can be fetched when needed. Requests should be made at the library Enquiry Desk at least one day in advance.
Curriculum Resources journals, selected for their usefulness in preparing classroom materials, are kept adjacent to the main Curriculum Resources Collection.
Electronic subscriptions are linked directly from the catalogue. Access to electronic journals from outside the Institute normally requires an ATHENS account.
