Aim of the Nursery and Welcome
Welcome to the Institute of Education Nursery. The aim of the nursery is to provide high quality childcare and nursery education where children feel safe, secure and happy helping them to develop confidence. Every effort is made to make sure that each individual child gets a high standard of care in the nursery and individual needs are met at all times. If you choose to use the nursery we hope that your child's time with us will be a positive and happy one. We realise that this maybe the first time your child has been separated from you and we want them to feel safe and secure in the nursery environment.
Access to the nursery is via a stairwell but there is a disabled lift entrance which is through the main building directly above the nursery. There are two main play areas for children well stocked with toys and equipment which are easily accessible. The building includes a bathroom with three low level toilets and wash basins, a changing table that is wall mounted and it can be used for nappy changing. The nursery was extended in 2006 to include additional rooms to extend further curriculum activities. There is a room dedicated for use for minimal lengths of time for example sleep time, movement, music and singing etc.
The rest of the nursery has a staff room, office, kitchen and two toilets one of which is for disabled people.
