  • Summary:
    • Paul is a Development Economist working on the Economics of Education in Developing countries. His current research focuses on econometric evaluations of education projects in India, with a focus on teacher contracting and effort. He is also interested in the growth of private schooling and its implications for the governance structure of school systems. Previous work has looked at the impact education has on growth and poverty reduction and school effectiveness in Southern and Eastern Africa.

    • PhD and Master's dissertation supervision of students within the field of Economics of Education in developing countries, ideally in South Asia, on topics such as (but not limited to) : Privatisation of schooling; teacher absenteeism; governance of schooling; school effectiveness.
