- Summary:
- My research focuses on learner-centred design of educational technology. I'm primarily interested in the design and development of technology to support learning in ill-defined domains. This includes informal and formal learning contexts, metacognition and epistemic cognition, motivation and affect, and social communication skills.
- Research Projects:
- Current projects:
- Taking on the Teenagers: we are developing learner-centred technology to support teenagers learn about their personal energy use and translate knowledge about energy from the classroom to their personal contexts.
- NEXT-TELL: an EU project that is supporting teachers to assess student learning through evidence-based methods.
Previous projects:
- ECHOES II: developed a technology enhanced learning environment for both typically developing children and children with Asperger Syndrome at Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) to explore and improve social interaction and collaboration skills.
- E-goals: exploring a goal-oriented approach to learner modelling and metacognitive software scaffolding.
