- I teach on the MA Education, Gender and International Development. My special interests are gender and community participation. My background is as a researcher and consultant for a range of international organisations in Africa, South Asia and China.

- Currently conducting doctoral research into community participation in policy and practice in Nigeria.
- Professional Activities:
- Consultancy and advisory work for NGOs and international organisations including DfID, UNICEF, ADB, Save the Children, Oxfam and ActionAid. Current work includes advising on a Service Delivery Perception Survey for DfID Sierra Leone; Transforming Girls' Education Project in Tanzania and Nigeria for ActionAid. Convenor of thematic section 'The Impact of Education For All Policies on Communities' at the 10th UKFIET international conference on education and development, Oxford, 15-17 September 2009.
