    • I previously worked in a scientific research institute before my interest in the use of English language and linguistics lead me into a teaching profession focusing on ESOL and professional and academic literacy within the post-16 sector, and staff-development programmes. I am particularity interested in pragmatics, rhetoric and critical discourse analysis and the processing strategies employed by readers.

      My research interests include:
      • the use of new technologies and second language learning
      • the construction of academic and professional text
      • academic writing pedagogy from a genre perspective
  • Teaching:
    • I currently teach several CAPLITS courses: pre-sessional and in-sessional academic literacy courses including Organising Your Writing, Working in English and Grammar for Academic Purposes. I also teach on courses within a number of programmes including Foundation Degree, PGCE and MPhil/PhD research training programme.
