Summary:
- Before coming to the Institute in 1997 I worked at universities and similar institutions in England, Spain, Holland and Australia. My main interest is in elective home education generally and in particular informal and autonomous learning of a kind which rarely feature in school.
Teaching:
- Supervision of a small number of MA dissertations, currently one on school refusal and home education.
Research Projects:
- Home educated children learning to read.
Professional Activities:
- Assessment of home education provision by parents/carers who face involvement in court cases.

- Lecture tour of Australia 2007 and Holland, France, Germany 2008.
