    • Ingrid's research interests lie with the study of human development across the life span; the study of risk and resilience; the realization of individual potential in a changing socio-historical context; social inequalities in attainment, health and well-being, and the intergenerational transmission of (dis)advantage.

    • • Research Director of PATHWAYS, an international postdoctoral Fellowship Programme for the Comparative Study of Productive Youth Development, funded by the Jacobs Foundation. The programme comprises a consortium of several leading institutions and scholars located in Finland (University of Helsinki), Germany (Max Planck Institute Berlin, and Universities of Jena and Tübingen), Sweden (University of Stockholm), and the US (University of Michigan)
      • PI on a ESRC funded project on Biographical Agency. The project is part of the ESRC Priority Network on Gender Inequality in Production and Reproduction directed by Prof. J. Scott, University of Cambridge
      • PI on a ESRC funded project on the Transition from school to work, which is part of the ESRC Centre for the Study of Learning and Life chances in the Knowledge Economies (LLAKES) directed by Andy Green and Lorna Unwin (all at the Institute of Education).
