  • Pauline is responsible for the management, development, planning and delivery of all the services offered by Research and Consultancy Services, for providing IOE-wide systems to ensure that the Institute's research and consultancy activity complies with legal, regulatory, funder and Institute requirements, for supporting the Pro-Director (Research and Development) in the development and delivery of research and consultancy strategies and policies, for engagement with external stakeholders in the Institute's research and consultancy and for internal communications at the highest levels.

    She is the professional lead for research support staff across the Institute, providing professional advice and guidance to this group of staff, and having lead responsibility for ensuring the provision of relevant professional development opportunities. Beyond IOE, as a former Director and Deputy Chair of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA), Pauline has developed training events and presented at them in the UK, West Africa and Malaysia on many aspects of research management, including proposal development, costing and pricing, European funding, HR issues in research and managing the research portfolio. She also oversaw the development of a Professional Development Framework for use across the research management community. She remains an active member of the ARMA Training Committee.
