  • Summary:
    • Broadly, my research interests are in infant and child development, particularly social, emotional and behavioural development. A common theme involves the question of how children acquire self-regulation, and how within-child and environmental factors support this process, or contribute to vulnerabilities and the development of problems. More specifically, my research includes studies of infant crying and sleeping behaviour and problems, attention and attention deficits, temperament, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties in pre-school and school children, and interventions to help vulnerable children and young people.

      Colm Lonergan - perspectives of health and education professionals on assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children with a diagnosis of ADHD.
