Doctoral School Conference Attendance Fund

There is provision in the Doctoral School fund to help doctoral students with the cost of conference attendance in order to present a paper. Grants, up to a maximum of £300, are available to doctoral students who are self-financing or who hold scholarships, which do not include an allowance for conferences. Students normally receive only one grant towards the cost of conference attendance during their total period of registration at the Institute. Applications should include the abstract of the conference presentation and written confirmation that the paper has been accepted. Students will be expected to write a short report following the conference.

The completed application form should be endorsed by your supervisor and then returned, together with any supporting documentation, to the Doctoral School for consideration. Please bear in mind that the funds available are limited and it may not be possible to consider a request for assistance if it is received after the sum allocated for the year has been exhausted.
