Started your course in 2011?
Please be aware that for any students starting their programme of study in 2011, you WILL NOT be affected by the higher fees that will come into effect for students starting in 2012. Continuers fees will rise in line with inflation. This also applies to those who have started a Foundation degree with us before September 2012 and are moving onto a B.Ed top up.
Starting your course in 2012?
For students starting their programme of study in 2012, new tuition fees will apply (see above). In line with the rest of the sector, the IOE will be losing much of its government funding. However we remain committed to providing the highest quality education to our students. You will need to research the best way to fund your course. We strongly recommend taking out the loans and grants available if you are eligible. For more information, please click on the link: The 20 Key facts on fees, loans and grants everyone should know. More information about funding can also be found on our website.
Deferred your place to 2012?
If you have deferred your place to 2012 please note the new fee regime will affect you.

There are 4 ways to pay your tuition fees:
1. Tuition fees payment by loan from Student Finance England
UK and EU PGCE and full-time undergraduate students can apply for a tuition fees loan from Student Finance England. The tuition fees loan is paid direct to the Institute of Education. You will need to bring two items with you on the day of enrolment - your university and college payment advice and your student finance breakdown letter. If in doubt bring all the documentation with you. If you borrow less than the total fee amount, you will be required to pay the difference.
2. Tuition fees payment in full in one amount
Payment may be made in full on the day of registration by one of the following methods. Payment by cheque, debit or credit card may be made at the Finance Office in the Student Support Centre, Level 4, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1H 0AL. Please make cheques payable to 'Institute of Education'.
A 1% discount applies when fees are paid in full within fourteen days of the official start date of the programme. This discount is not available to sponsors. For more information see How and when to pay your tuition fees.(pdf)
3. Tuition fees payment by instalment
Payment may be made by direct debit from your bank account, in three termly instalments from November to April. You must return a completed direct debit mandate on the day of registration. If you pay by instalments you will be required to make your first instalment payment at enrolment.
4. Tuition fees payment by sponsor
Students whose fees are fully or partially sponsored by employers must provide evidence in the form of a sponsorship letter. We will only accept sponsorship letters that are duly signed and on company headed paper which meet the sponsorship letter guidelines. Please provide a copy of the guidelines to your sponsor when requesting a sponsorship letter. You are required to bring the sponsorship letter with you on the day of enrolment. The institute will invoice your sponsor after your enrolment. If you are paying part of your fees, please refer to payment methods 2 and 3 above.
