If you are from outside the EU and planning to study at Masters or Doctoral level, check out our Centenary Scholarships for taught masters or research. In 2011/12 these included 5 awards at masters level, including 1 International Students House Centenary Scholarship. We also offered two awards at doctoral level.  Centenary Scholarship opportunities for 2012/13 will announced in Spring 2012. Be sure to return to this page regularly!

There is a range of support for undergraduate or PGCE students, including awards for under-represented groups and the Eliahou Dangoor Scholarships for PGCEs in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), ICT or Mathematics.

There is also a new TDA scholarship scheme for teachers in England, which is aimed at masters-level qualifications focused on English, Maths, Science, and Special Education with a maximum scholarship award of £3,500. Please find details at  TDA Continuing Professional Development Scholarship Scheme (pdf)

The David Warren Scholarship, in memory of a former IOE Secretary, is open to UK students undertaking our MA in Geography Education.

The IOE has partnerships with the China Scholarship Council, providing awards for Chinese PhD students; with the Fulbright Commission for masters students and teachers from the USA; with the Said Foundation for masters students from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinian Territories; and with the Windle Trust for masters students from specified African countries.

If you are from a Commonwealth country other than the UK, take a look at our joint award with the Commonwealth Commission.

For our doctoral students there is a wide range of other support available. AHRC studentships are available for some Master's degrees in arts and humanities - see the doctoral student link.
