    • My PhD research focused on adults who learn to play an instrument within an ensemble and I explored the learning processes within the ensemble environment, the role of performance in musical learning and how adults develop and use their musical identities in their learning. I have also worked on research projects looking at partnership working, professional development for Key Stage 2 teachers and I am currently investigating the learning processes and outcomes of a Javanese Gamelan project within prisons.

As well as maintaining a small amount of teaching in a secondary school, I also work for ABRSM Professional Development as a mentor and I am Academic Tutor for the RNCM PGDip in Performance Arts Leadership, delivered by Artis Education.
