BA / BEd Education (Honours Top-up Programme) - Working with Children: Education and Well-Being Route
This programme will:
- give you a wide understanding of the principles of teaching and learning
- deepen and broaden your professional knowledge and understanding of education
- encourage you to reflect creatively on your professional experience
- provide the opportunity to undertake research
- enable you to progress to further study or training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (please note, the BA/BEd does not give QTS).

This route is for applicants with the IOE Foundation Degree in Working with Children: Education and Well-Being.

Who is this programme for?
Primarily, people who have completed a foundation degree at the IOE who want to pursue their education studies alongside their employment. The part-time route is available to students who have completed their foundation degree at another institution.
Entry requirements
Normally an IOE Foundation Degree in Working with Children: Education and Well-Being. We may consider applicants with a foundation degree from another institution, at the discretion of the programme leader. Any student that has failed to submit coursework for the foundation degree on at least one occasion will have their BEd / BA application reviewed. We may ask you to attend an interview or provide samples of your previous academic work.
How is the course assessed?
By coursework assignments (including essays, reports and portfolios), written examinations and a research project.
Attendance
Weekly full-day or half-day face-to-face sessions, depending on whether you study full-time or part-time.
