Lifelong and Comparative Education (LCE)

The Department of Lifelong and Comparative Education (LCE) is a multi-disciplinary department bringing together a community of researchers with expertise in the social sciences, and postgraduate students sharing a common interest in exploring education, training and employment, and professional development.  

We have extensive expertise and experience in research and development in the UK, Europe and Asia, and provide consultancy work and policy advice on education and related areas. We work closely with the UK Forum for International Education and Training, Learning Plus UK, as well as with regional organizations, employer organizations, national institutes, and international organisations.  

PGCE and Masters Programmes

Through our highly acclaimed PGCE and Masters programmes we emphasize the development of analytical skills and acquisition of knowledge that will enable postgraduate students to critically evaluate policy options for enhancing education, professional practice and social development, and to draw lessons from cross-national research and experiences with education and training policies.
