Understanding Inequalities: Stratification and Difference

By Lucinda Platt

This book brings together the latest empirical evidence with a discussion of sociological debates surrounding inequality, and explores a broad range of inequalities in people's lives. As well as treating the core sociological topics of class, ethnicity and gender, it examines how inequalities are experienced across a variety of settings, including education, health, geography and housing, income and wealth, and how they cumulate across the life course.

Publications

Full details of CLS publications can be found in the searchable bibliography on the CLS website.  This includes citations of all historical publications resulting from analyses of CLS cohort data (both by external researchers and those within the centre).

Please inform CLS of any publications resulting from the use of cohort data (journal articles, books, reports, working papers, conference presentations etc) so they can be added to our online reference database. This information helps us to assess how useful the data is to the research community and makes it easier for us to secure financial investment in the future. It also informs researchers about other work using the studies and so helps to avoid duplication.
