Study
We currently have around 300 PGCE students, 200 students following an MA level and about 60 Research students. Most of our students are practicing professionals and are able to take advantage of the part-time facility offered by the Institute to work alongside their study. CPE provides our students with the support necessary to graduate and the very best opportunities to find work when they graduate. There are also progression routes through the different levels of study, so students always have opportunities for continuous professional development. Finally, as a student at the Institute, you have access to an unparalleled range of additional conferences and courses. The Faculty of Policy and Society (FPS) is made up of 8 departments. There are 313 staff including 172 academics, many of whom are national and international experts in their fields. Currently there are over 300 registered Doctoral and post graduate research students, both home and international, part-time and full-time, studying on MPhil, PhD, EdD and MSc programmes and covering a wide range of research interests and specialisms reflecting the diversity of research within the Faculty. Doctoral and post graduate research students in FPS are an essential, active and integral part of both the Faculty and IOE academic community and contribute to the Doctoral School Conferences as well as the full range of Faculty and IOE research seminar series. They are also encouraged to attend and present at relevant national and international conferences.
