Study

We offer doctoral programmes as well as taught research-focussed Master's degrees. For students wishing to spend short periods of time studying at the Institute our  Associateship, Special Research Programme or Post-Doctoral Programme may be of interest.

All research students are assigned a supervisor from an academic department within one of our two faculties, who will guide and direct your studies.  Each has a Faculty Director of Postgraduate Research  who oversees the admission of students, including the appointment of supervisors for each research student.  The Faculty Director of Postgraduate Research also acts, on behalf  the Faculty Postgraduate Research Committee, in overseeing the progress of research students with support from their research administrators.

Studying for a research degree offers the exciting prospect of working at the frontiers of knowledge under the supervision of an expert and in the company of equally enthusiastic and dedicated fellow researchers. For more information about our programmes please view our current student handbooks.  Doctoral students will find our Code of Practice for Research Degrees enables you to look forward to receiving regular guidance and support throughout your studies.

Our degree regulations and policies and procedures are also available to view.
