Social Justice And Education MA

This masters degree will:

  • identify, examine and critique key sociological perspectives on social justice, citizenship, social inequalities, social inclusion and exclusion
  • explore how social justice issues are constituted and contested
  • examine social justice concerns in education policy and practice
  • develop your theoretical, methodological and analytical social research skills to enable you to critique existing research and to pursue your own enquiries in social justice and education.

Entry requirements

A good first degree in education or the social sciences, or a degree in another subject plus professional or personal experience in social justice work. If you do not meet these requirements, you may be able to qualify through special procedures.

How are you assessed?

By coursework assignments of up to 5,000 words and a 20,000-word dissertation or 10,000-word report.

Attendance

Mixed mode, including face-to-face Saturday or evening sessions and interactive online learning.
