The Influence Of North South School Partnerships

The Influence Of North South School Partnerships: Examining The Evidence From Schools In The UK, Africa And Asia

Overview
In this research, we explore the perceived influence of International School Partnerships on leaders, teachers and students in the UK, Africa and Asia. During the first year of our two-year DFID-UK funded study, we surveyed over 1400 school-level partnership leaders in 15 countries. The goal of the survey was to develop an understanding of the current landscape, practice and influence of school partnerships. In the second year, we conducted 55 school-level case studies in the United Kingdom, Africa (Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania) and Asia (India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka). Our report highlights the potential for International School Partnerships to influence student and teacher development of new knowledge, skills and understanding. The final chapter highlights our findings from 'high momentum' partnerships that have successfully created whole-school gains based on their international collaboration.
