All Doctoral activity within the Faculty is overseen by the Faculty Post-Graduate Research Committee, which includes student representation, and is headed by the Faculty Director for Post-Graduate Research, Dr Barbara Cole. All administration at Faculty level is co-ordinated by the two research administrators, Neal Carr and Hannah Liebing. Life Course Development:Theories & Methods
The course will enable you to appreciate different theoretical approaches and methods in the study of human development across the life course.

ESRC Quota Studentships (up to £18,290 p.a. tax-free plus fees)
DoQSS has been allocated at least one of the five ESRC quota studentships offered by the Institute for entry in 2010-11. The awards are either for four years, leading to an MSc followed by PhD, or for three years leading to a PhD. Further details are given here.

Bloomsbury Studentship

Dick Wiggins as co-supervisor has won a Bloomsbury Colleges PhD Studentship with Dr James Hargreaves (at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) to offer a funded studentship on the 'social and educational determinants of sexual partner choice and HIV Risk among young women in South Africa'.

Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Research
The Department welcomes applications to undertake PhD training or post doctoral research in any of our areas of interest. There is a lively environment with a range of multidisciplinary activities and opportunities to acquire cutting-edge skills in longitudinal and mixed methods research.
