This two-day workshop is offered as an optional module of the Institute's Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education Programme. It aims to provide course members with an opportunity to examine, explore and integrate a range of practical and theoretical issues relating to assessing students, in a workshop setting. The course will include: the purposes of assessment; reliability and validity; methods and systems of assessment; self and peer assessment; competence-based assessment; profiles and project reports; objective examinations; assessment and student learning. This module is available as a short course.
