Incorporating ICT into Teaching/Training Practice in Higher and Professional Education

This module aims to broaden participants' understanding of ICT as an aid to teaching/training practice in higher and professional education. It introduces a range of appropriate theoretical perspectives on the role of ICT in educational settings. It focuses attention on the ways in which ICT can be exploited, and on what advantages and disadvantages may be observed when it is. A principal aim of the module is to facilitate course members' capabilities to purposefully evaluate ICT, and ICT-derived teaching/training resources. The module will be taught as blended learning by combining use of a virtual learning environment and other ICTs with an initial face-to-face session. It allows for course members to draw fully on their own professional practice.
