  • Summary:
    • Research, teaching and consultancy focus chiefly on children's and young people's health and wellbeing and on continuing professional development of those who work with children and young people. Particular areas of interest are in sexual health, emotional health, healthy settings (including healthy schools and healthy further education settings), and HIV/AIDS. Has conducted research and training in the UK, South Africa, Ghana, Slovakia and the USA.
  • Teaching:
    • Course leader for the MA Education, Health Promotion and International Development and module leader for two online modules, Introduction to Social Research Methods in Health Promotion and Developing and Promoting Health and Wellbeing: Concepts and Issues. Also contributes to the Foundation Degree, Working with Children: Education and Wellbeing.

      Developed and taught a range of short courses including: young people's sexual health, lifeskills education, evaluation, and project management.

      Promoting the health and wellbeing of children and young people through schools: the role of the nurse (funded by DH)

      Evaluation of the Ford Foundation's Global Dialogue on Sexual Health and Well-Being (funded by the Ford Foundation)
