Learning Centred Leadership for International Schools
Raising the quality of learning and teaching from good to outstanding in your school.
Learning Centred Leadership is a school improvement and leadership development programme for international schools with a focus on teaching and learning. It aims to develop school leaders who are proactive in promoting and leading change, model life-long learning and use research to inform practice in order to improve outcomes for pupils.
Learning Centred Leadership combines school improvement strategies with leadership development programmes. The programme keeps the teachers' focus on learning through the use of practices that create rich classroom activities and promote effective learning in addition to playing an important role in the professional development of teachers.
The aims of the programme are to:
• Boost participants' knowledge of current and forward-thinking effective learning strategies that are explored in practice through an enquiry approach
• Increase participants' ability to draw upon theory and research to inform practice in their leadership of learning
• Enable participants to gain a deeper sense of professional satisfaction in their current roles by developing leadership skills
• Provide opportunities for participants to demonstrate the impact of their learning on standards in their schools, the learning of pupils and school improvement
• Equip participants through the leadership of learning to raise their influence in order to impact on student learning, participation and wellbeing.
Programme Design and Delivery Method:
LCL is delivered in 4 phases, using a blended learning model, incorporating face-to face, school-based and online activity. Participants receive support from the IOE team of facilitators and the country-based/school-based coaches and mentors throughout the programme
