Student Associates Scheme
Regarding the closure of the Student Associates Scheme (SAS) nationally and at the Institute of Education
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has decided to close the Student Associates Scheme (SAS) – the national scheme for giving university students classroom experience – following the current academic year 2010-11.
The Institute of Education would like to take this opportunity to thank current and previous Student Associates and placement schools for the hard work and investment you have made to ensure the success of our SAS scheme in past 10 years.
Following the expiry of this and other similar schemes, the TDA will launch a new, single School Experience Programme (SEP) from September 2011. This new programme will be available not just to students, but also to other people who are considering entering, or in some cases, re-entering teaching. The TDA wishes to reach the same number of participants as the current schemes through a more flexible structure. The SEP will be delivered by the TDA in partnership with schools. Please contact the TDA for further information.
