Employment-based initial teacher training (ITT)
Employment-based ITT is a vocational route to gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It is school-based where a graduate is employed as an unqualified teacher during the training period. There are two programmes offered by the EBR Unit at the Institute: the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP), a full-time programme catering for graduates who want to gain QTS; and the Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (OTTP) also full-time and for graduates holding a non-EU teaching qualification and wishing to gain QTS. To apply for the OTTP, the applicant must be currently based in the UK and employed in a school as an overseas trained teacher.
The deadline for GTP applications has now passed.
To apply for the OTTP, please download the relevant pdfs in the right-hand blue box.
